International week inclusive mobility

Are you a professional working in higher education in the field of internationalisation and inclusion? Yes?

From March 15 to March 18, 2022, the Office of International Policy of Artevelde University of Applied Sciences and the Support Centre for Inclusive Higher Education organise an international staff mobility week on ‘Inclusive Mobility’.

Students who go abroad get better degrees and better jobs. Making it possible to cross visible and invisible borders is a task of a higher education institution to facilitate. Moreover for disadvantaged students, these borders are even higher and these students are underrepresented in mobility.

This staff training week is designed to train university staff to assess the inclusiveness of their internationalisation processes and to design student mobilities that are more accessible for disadvantaged students. This staff training is supplemented by frameworks, assessment tools, case studies and toolkits that are implementable right away when back at the workplace.

By deploying experienced trainers from different organisations and countries, a tailor-made approach will be guaranteed. The recommendations, activities, instruments and toolkits being presented in this staff training have been developed by the trainers through European funded research projects and follow successful pilots. The staff mobility week will focus on the impact that these outputs and activities had in sending more disadvantaged students abroad, and to inspire all participants to make changes in their organisation.

Sharing experiences and best practices

By attending this staff training, you will gain in-depth insight in the key criteria of an Inclusive Mobility, following a 360° approach in which the needs and expectations of disadvantaged students, university staff and national authorities are highlighted. Experts in the field of inclusive mobility will look at efforts to address this participation gap, and flagging evidence-based recommendations, toolkits and case studies of good practice. You will learn to assess your own internal processes and through a peer and counseling approach, you will be supported to draw up plans on how to overcome your specific challenges.

The training can host up to 30 people with a maximum of 1 person per institution. The participation fee for this event is 95€. Deadline for application: February 7, 2022.
