Dear participant,

You attended the final conference of the EPFIME project on Inclusive Mobility last year.

The Flemish Ministry of Education and Training, the Support Centre Inclusive Higher Education (SIHO) and the PLAR-4-SIMP project partners are now pleased to invite you to the Final Conference ‘Making mobility programmes more inclusive’, that will be held online on 5 April 2022, 13:30-16:30 CEST

As the new Erasmus+ Programme and the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) aim to achieve better inclusiveness in mobility programmes, higher education authorities and institutions are in the process of considering, planning, and implementing reforms to widen the participation of students from disadvantaged groups in mobility programmes.

The conference is part of the two-year PLAR-4-SIMP project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme in the framework of the call to support the implementation of EHEA reforms (2019). The specific objectives of the project are:

(1) to organise two transnational peer learning activities on social inclusion in mobility programmes to strengthen mutual learning and deepen the exchange of good practices and challenges between higher education authorities and institutions in different implementation stages across 12 countries

(2) to publish a comprehensive report on national social inclusion measures and practices, that have been implemented across EHEA to widen the participation of disadvantaged students in mobility programmes in which innovative inclusive policy measures will be highlighted

(3) to develop a hands-on communication package to communicate the benefits of outward mobility towards students of underrepresented groups in an inclusive way

(4) to develop a training package that consists of an online and adaptable e-learning module to equip staff of higher education authorities and institutions with knowledge, attitudes, and tools required to best organise inclusive student mobility in the 21st century

During the final conference, you will be introduced to the resources to support the implementation of a sustainable inclusive mobility strategy at national and institutional level. A panel of guest speakers will discuss the project results and bring a broader perspective to the topic of Inclusive Mobility.
