Dear partner,
Saxion University of Applied Sciences will organize a new event: Global Village Festival. This event will replace our International Week and will run from 31st of January till 4th of February 2022.
During this week, the students gain experiences with different cultures, religions, poverty / wealth and (gender) identities. The aim is to confront full-time students with a Dutch background with their own prejudices. By reflecting on that confrontation and placing the experience in the profession-specific context, they are able to approach professionally relevant issues from a broader and more inclusive perspective. Theme of the week is Internationalisation, inclusion and diversity.
The Saxion Global Village contributes directly to the Sustainable Development Goals 5 (Gender Equality) and 10 (Reducing inequality).
The School of Commerce and Entrepreneurship organizes two days (on Tuesday 1 February and Thursday 3 February) during the Global Village Festival in which guest speakers from our partner universities are able to provide an interesting lecture and/or workshop for our second and third year students. The duration of each slot is 1,5 hours. Note: the students can choose from a variety of sessions from which they have to choose some. Hence, we are aiming for popular and interesting topics related to the central theme, within the field of International Business, marketing, and entrepreneurship in order to trigger students’ enthusiasm to sign up.
If you are interested and have an exciting topic to discuss and/or to work on with our students, please let us know asap.
Lastly, the opening ceremony will take place on Monday afternoon from 15:45. It would be appreciated if you could be present from the start. Saxion will cover the cost of the lunches and 2 dinners. Participants are expected to take care of their accommodation and transportation themselves. Mobility in the context of this event can be financed by Erasmus+, providing your institution has an Erasmus+ agreement with Saxion.
