Digitalization – EWP

DIGITALIZATION – ERASMUS WITHOUT PAPER (EWP)

At the outset, universities must recognize that embracing digitalization should be managed as an ongoing process rather than as a single radical change project. Digitalization transcends the mere adoption of the latest gadgets or software; it entails a profound transformation of education delivery and experience, a journey that continues over time. Erasmus Without Paper (EWP) stands for a digital workflow that leaves no university behind. Furthermore, this way, the Erasmus+ office tackles the administrative workload for students and staff. Shifting processes online have greatly reduced the strain. Online platforms contribute to a free public infrastructure, which benefits all HEIs across the EU. UNIWA supports a paperless protocol system to reduce paper in the daily workplace. It has joined the EWP network and Dashboard, replacing the paper-based workflow with a digital one.

Every member of the academic community (student, professor, administrator) can have a digital signature issued by the University of West Attica through HARICA (Hellenic Academic & Research Institutions Certification Authority). This way the printing on paper of documents to be signed is almost universally reduced (https://www.uniwa.gr/psifiaki-ypografi/, https://www.harica.gr)
